Today we remember Alois Alzheimer, the man who first described the disease we now know as Alzheimer's way back in 1906. But it was on this day(ish) in 1910 that a fellow by the name of Emil Kraepelin gave it the name in his book Clinical Psychiatry (1910). It's thanks to these two gentlemen that we have a name for the affliction so many suffer from.
On a brighter note we can all say Happy 406th Birthday to Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn. You clever painter you.
